Remember the CRAZY March weather? Our Winter Wellness trip from the snow day in March has been rescheduled to Tuesday April 3rd. Kinders should wear comfy clothes, sneakers, long hair pulled back and bring their positive attitudes with lots of encouraging words.
At this point in the school year, Kinders are putting it all together. Step by step they have learned and practiced the critical targets for composing and producing writing pieces for the 3 genres of writing: Opinion, Narrative, Informative.
In this picture you see: DEEP, Details, Engineering, Edits, Purpose for Narrative writng (Small moment). Good Luck my Kinder friends! So much dedication went into these Leprechaun Traps. Inquiry and restructuring were in full depth with these little engineers. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
As we return from a vacation, snow days, etc. we use the Responsive Classroom model to reteach and practice the structure, routine, and expectations of the classroom. New Daily 3 Math center choices were introduced and some new Word Work choices were exchanged. During the focus lessons we reviewed what all of the Daily 3 and Daily 5 choices look like, sound like and feel like. On this day, Kinders were refreshing their minds of how to be independent at Read to Someone.
Stage 1: Today Kinder Engineers drew their designs and began experimenting with assembly. I'll keep you posted of the final traps.
